Practice Business Manager at Dapdune House Surgery
Dapdune House Surgery is looking for an experienced NHS Practice Business Manager with a breadth of management skills to lead our busy and high-performing Guildford town centre GP practice.
Supported by the four partners, a capable Operations Manager and an experienced team, you will be comfortable handling a broad portfolio of responsibilities, with a focus primarily on operational delivery and strategy, finance, and human resources. You will be a strong communicator, able to engage effectively both internally and with our many external stakeholders.
To succeed in this challenging multi-faceted full-time position, you will need to be able to keep multiple projects running in parallel, and be able to interpret, prioritise and act on the strategic issues affecting general practice. You will need to have excellent people skills to manage a diverse team.
Experience in the health sector would be an advantage, but it is more important that you are able to adapt your proven leadership skills to a new and diverse environment and be able to respond well to change.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
* Develop and implement business plans to achieve strategic objectives.
* Manage financial operations, including budgeting, cash flow, and financial claims and reporting.
* Leadership, HR and recruitment.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Employment legislation, and information governance standards.
* Lead and support the practice team, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
* Engage with patients to gather feedback and improve services.
* Represent the practice in contract negotiations and local healthcare forums.
* Key liaison with the Primary Care Network and member surgeries and any ARRS staff who provide a supporting service at the organisation.
About You:
* Degree level qualification in business management or equivalent.
* Proven experience in practice management, preferably within a healthcare setting.
* Strong financial acumen and experience with accounting software.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills.
* Knowledge of NHS policies, PMS/GMS contracts, and quality standards.
* Ability to manage change and drive strategic development.
