What success will look like for you, as a Senior Hardware In the Loop Test Engineer?
As a Senior Hardware In the Loop Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing software solutions for Hardware in the Loop testing, data acquisition hardware and software, HMI, data recording, test automation, and data compression. You will also support with requirements specification, validation, integration, and verification of test rigs software applications and data acquisition systems.
You will be leading the development of various Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and aircraft virtual panels and designing test automation and post data analysis automation applications to improve test campaign metrics. Additionally, as part of your role, you will produce Technical Documentation to support the creation of certification-ready test rigs.
You will be working with a variety of engineering teams and will work closely with Integration and Test Engineers during commissioning and operation of new test rigs.
The Senior Hardware In the Loop Test Engineer reports to the System Test IPT Lead and will be a key member of the system test team, supporting the continued development of our in-house expertise, specialist knowledge, and capabilities.
What would we like you to bring?
To be successful in your role, you will need to have completed either a Bachelor’s or a Master’s in Aerospace, Electrical, or Computer Science Engineering (or equivalent) and have at least 5 years’ experience within aerospace/automotive engineering test campaigns, unit, and system testing of hardware and associated software – preferably covering certification testing.
Experience with data acquisition systems such as Speedgoat, National Instruments, RT-Opal, or dSPACE and with GE Reflective Memory is a plus. Additionally, familiarity with CI/CD processes and proficiency with tools such as git/SourceTree, as well as knowledge of DO-330 software tool qualification and DO-178 airborne systems software, would be preferable.
Some desirable but not essential skills include experience with UI/UX design for test applications and familiarity with Requirement Management tools such as DOORS, Windchill RV&S, Eclipse, or JAMA.
