Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive Junior Buyer to join our Procurement Team, supporting project material sourcing and supplier onboarding. In this role, you’ll manage procurement processes via the Asite platform, liaise with suppliers, and ensure all activities comply with company regulations. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their procurement skills within a fast-paced project environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist Senior Buyers with purchasing tasks for project needs
* Ensure timely processing of purchase requisitions in line with project timelines
* Conduct procurement activities in line with company policies and governance
* Support the development of product category strategies with market research and analysis
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring effective communication
* Help resolve accounts queries using SAP and liaising with suppliers
* Be the main point of contact for project staff using the Asite procurement platform
* Manage supplier onboarding, including issuing and following up on PQQs
* Assist with audit support and track supplier non-conformance
Person Specification:
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:
* Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word
* Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Basic understanding of procurement processes
* Knowledge of ERP systems
* Studying towards Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS)
Qualifications:
Essential:
* GCSEs (A-C) in English and Maths or equivalent
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Proactive and self-motivated
* Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
* Team player, willing to contribute to the success of the team
* Experience working with suppliers
* Experience in a purchasing or procurement role
* Knowledge of the construction industry and its components
