Fal Ward is a clinical day case unit looking for an experienced Oncology nurse who is trained in chemotherapy and is willing to assist with the coordination of the day-to-day running of the unit.
Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS at Risk staff throughout Devon who can display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
Responsibilities include:
1. Coordination of the day-to-day running of the day unit and/or Oncology O/P.
2. Education and leadership for junior staff.
3. Clinical roles including venepuncture, cannulation, CVAD use, blood transfusions, chemotherapy & immunotherapy, and other supportive treatments.
4. Supporting new patients with accurate information, including signposting and safety netting advice.
5. Understanding blood parameters and making decisions according to protocols and patient presentation.
Support the senior sister in the managerial duties of running a day case unit and Oncology O/P.
