Heritage Portfolio is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Baker to join our team at the Central Production Kitchen in Leith, Edinburgh. We operate within some of Scotland’s leading cultural destinations, including Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, The Scottish National Portrait Gallery, V&A Dundee, Mansfield Traquair, the Signet Library, and Perth and Musselburgh Racecourses.
Our bakery focuses on fresh, seasonal, made-from-scratch products. We supply retail venues in Edinburgh and Dundee with a variety of traybakes, biscuits, muffins, mini loaves, large decorated cakes, and specialty afternoon tea items. Baking between 5,000-7,000 pieces weekly requires efficient planning and execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge and passion for baking, with experience in a similar supervisory role.
Role Responsibilities
* Maintain focus on food allergens and customer information at all times
* Deliver high standards of food quality according to specifications
* Assist with ordering, stocktaking, and inventory management in collaboration with retail sites
* Plan weekly bakery production to meet all requirements
* Support the Kitchen Manager in ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety practices
* Ensure all health and safety legislation, including HACCP, Safeguard/EHO visits, fire procedures, and first aid, are correctly followed and recorded
The Ideal Candidate
* Organized and adaptable, capable of supporting all bakery operations
* Motivated team player with excellent multitasking skills and ability to meet deadlines
* Ability to follow recipes precisely and contribute to product development
* Hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate
