Role Detail: Peterborough United are looking to appoint a full-time Professional Development Phase Lead Coach to join our team of experienced coaching staff within the U18 – U21 age groups. This exciting opportunity comes at a time when the club has a rich history of successfully developing players for the first team and it requires an experienced coach to continue this player pathway. Success of coaching within the professional development phase is essential and experience of first team coaching is preferred. The successful applicant will work closely with our first team staff as well as senior Academy staff. Role Overview: To play a significant role in helping lead the development of footballers within the Academy programme. Helping the academy achieve its vision of becoming ‘a leading Category 2 Academy developing a minimum of 3 academy graduates per season’. To work closely with the Academy Director, First Team Manager and his coaching staff, and coaches within the Professional Development Phase. To deliver coaching sessions within the u18 / u21 age groups in alignment with the club’s football philosophy. To coach on matchdays with the u18 / u21 in alignment with the club’s football philosophy. To drive the players individual development plans and ensure the players reach their potential. To support the process for the professional Development Phase players who are on loan/work experience and their pathway at the loan club alongside other senior Academy staff. To liaise with the Academy analysis department to produce and deliver content to support the player’s individual development plans. To attend, lead and contribute to daily multi-disciplinary team meetings. To work closely with the First Team Staff to ensure a smooth transition from the Professional Development Phase to first team football. To assist in the delivery and development of players within the Youth Development Phase when required, and contribute to the decisions of Youth Development Phase players individual pathways. To attend and contribute to the Academy’s CPD programme alongside the Academy Head of Coaching. To ensure all player monitoring software and programmes are kept up to date. Ensure health and safety and safeguarding procedures are implemented and recorded as required. Attend any training requirements e.g. first aid, safeguarding children, Equality and Diversity. Assist staff with parent / agent communication. Assist in the arrangement of additional fixtures when necessary Work closely with the Academy Director regarding the vision and progression of the Academy in alignment with the Academy Performance Plan and EPPP Audit requirements. To action and deliver any other duty on behalf of Peterborough United Football Club that the Academy Director requires.
