Reed accountancy are working with a fantastic returning client based in Midlothian who are seeking an Accounts Assistant to provide support within the finance department. The ideal candidate will have experience within a similar role and be able to manage multiple workloads independently.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Upload and review daily income reconciliations.
* Conduct monthly holiday home deposit reconciliations.
* Process purchase invoices, ensuring accurate coding and appropriate authorisations.
* Handle bank payments and receipts.
* Perform bank and loan reconciliations.
* Prepare monthly journals.
* Manage debtors and creditors, keeping relevant team members informed of any outstanding sums, including weekly debtors reports and maintaining good credit control on all accounts.
* Prepare and submit customer invoices.
* File records and archive documents.
* Produce analysis reports as required.
* Carry out any other duties that may reasonably be requested.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Excellent computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new software.
2. Knowledge of Xero accounting software is advantageous but not essential.
3. Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels.
4. Driven, proactive, and motivated with a flexible “can do” attitude.
