Harrison Gray Search has partnered with a $25B independent registered investment advisory firm to find their next Regional Director for the Chicago Region. In the role of Regional Director, you will serve as a visionary leader and central representative for team members and business partners across designated markets. This role provides an opportunity to shape growth strategies, inspire teams, and drive strong business outcomes. You will be tasked with setting and surpassing growth targets, crafting innovative strategies to enhance revenue, and adapting effective methods to ensure profitability. Leading dynamic marketing efforts, identifying market trends, and developing initiatives that engage clients will be key components of this role. From managing impactful promotional events to delivering advanced training programs for advisors, you will be instrumental in efforts to attract and retain valued clients. As a Regional Director, you will also guide cross-functional teams, ensuring smooth implementation of processes that enhance client experiences. Additionally, you will act as a trusted resource for advisory team members—listening, addressing concerns, and resolving challenges to foster a supportive, high-performance environment. This is a full-time leadership position. The Regional Director (RD) can expect to focus on the following areas: Owns the P&L of assigned teams Provide leadership to a group of advisor teams Develops a regional organic growth strategy to achieve firm goals Develops a strategy to improve client retention; monitors retention metrics across teams and resolves any issues Partners with the Director of Client Service to ensure optimal service to advisors and clients Achieves segmentation and utilization metrics Accountable for appropriate team capacity allocation and planning Develops staffing plans tailored to the regional needs and growth projections Coaches team leaders and advisors in all areas of their practice Facilitates cross-team collaboration and defining best practices with other RDs Assists with sourcing and attracting advisory talent Assists with sourcing M&A targets Develops and organizes advisor retreats and events in their region Provides support to advisors with sourcing and closing new client opportunities with advisors, when needed Qualifications The Regional Director position typically requires the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or related field from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree a plus. 10 years in the wealth management or financial services industry 5 years in a leadership role CFP® (Certified Financial Planning) designation preferred Must have a clean U4 with no disclosures (if applicable) Knowledge of best practices for advisory teams and firms, including strategy, growth, human capital, operations, etc. Familiarity with Salesforce, Tamarac, MS Office, MoneyGuide Pro Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills Aptitude in creative problem-solving Experience determining the needs of partners and prospects through probing questions, offering solutions, and asking for the right actions Willingness and ability to travel within the region regularly. Desire to support the growth of advisors, teams, regions, and firm. Possesses a "not afraid to get into the weeds and roll-up sleeves" mentality.
