Hours: Commensurate with the position of your role within the organisation, you will be required to adopt a flexible approach to the hours worked which may be necessary for the proper performance of your duties. The basic contractual hours will be 37.5 hours per week, with an unpaid lunch break of half an hour any 5 days from 7 days.

Role
We are currently recruiting for a Technical Maintenance Control Manager to join our team based at our Head Office in Coventry. The main purpose of the role is to lead and manage a team and the activity of monitoring and controlling the daily M&R spend across specific revenue streams. Using data and necessary KPI’s, determine strategies for helping the business reduce its overall M&R spend as % of revenue through continuous improvement activities and technical solutions.
Responsibilities
* Adhere to all statutory requirements regarding fire, health, safety and hygiene.
* Participate in cross / multi skilled training within your department or other departments as deemed appropriate by your Manager.
* Carry out any reasonable instruction as directed by a Manager [or Director].
* Deal with all internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
* Maintain a high level of dress and appearance at all times adhering to PPE where the role requires this.
* Attend any training sessions as requested and adhere to all company regulations.
From time to time you may be required to carry out duties outside the normal sphere of work as may be reasonably requested by Management.
Job Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Lead and manage a team of Technical Maintenance Controllers to ensure that appropriate control and approval processes are in place to manage the daily M&R spend across all revenue streams.
* Implement and manage a Daily spend M&R measurement dashboard that enables detailed analysis to identify all root causes of overspend.
* Working closely with the Operations Management team (Fleet Engineering & Control Manager, Regional Engineering Managers & Regional Fleet Engineers & Customer Service Managers) – identify root causes of overspend and determine appropriate corrective actions to mitigate identified issues.
* Ensure all warranty costs are recovered and maximise manufacturer goodwill contributions.
* Assist with any technical projects deemed a priority by the Fleet Engineering & Control Manager.
* Monitor VOR and Vehicle Uptime.
* Continuously track and analyse vehicle off-road (VOR) instances to minimize downtime.
* Implement strategies to improve vehicle uptime and ensure fleet availability.
* Develop and maintain a VOR dashboard to provide real-time insights and trends.
* Support Account managers and Key People in the Business with Technical Elements i.e. Pricing, Mapping etc.
Person Specification
* Knowledge: Robust technical knowledge of M&R requirements for the Fraikin Fleet.
* Skills: Analytical, processing data, project management, leadership, HR Management, Microsoft Office & M3 system.
* Experience: Minimum 2 years in a technical role within Fraikin or similar organisation managing a team.
* Time served as an HGV/LGV Technician and or workshop controller with an extensive knowledge of maintenance standards for LGV and HGV vehicles.
* Previous experience (or similar) within a busy maintenance control room environment dealing with scheduling/maintenance of commercial rental/Contract Hire/Fleet Management vehicles with third party suppliers.
* In depth knowledge of repair times and parts cost.
* Proven track record of cost management within a similar environment.
* Negotiating and communication skills at all levels.
* I.T literate and able to produce reports within tableau or excel where required to monitor the departments performance.
* Will work best on their own initiative and take pride in ensuring that work is seen through to completion.
* To be flexible in attitude in providing solutions to problems.
* People Management including performance appraisals, setting objectives, following Manager responsibilities with HR processes including ER related activities.
