Gleeds Global Pursuit Team provides world class bid support on major pursuits across the globe including UK. Working collaboratively with regional teams on a global scale, we focus on strategic client positioning, target growth sectors, our top 10 Key Client Accounts and our Target Growth Accounts. As Bid Manager, you will manage our most high-profile and complex bids throughout the entire end-to-end bid process. This includes supporting all aspects of the Global Pursuit Bid Process (GPBP) from pre-bid preparation and strategic positioning, through to the live bid phases and post tender interviews. You will ensure technical teams are best equipped to respond to client objectives and secure the work through our best practice bidding approach. This role is also responsible for the supervision and development of staff and development of good practice within the Global Pursuit Team. Our Global Pursuits team operate UK wide, and this position can be based from any of our UK offices, including London, Bristol, Birmingham, Nottingham, Manchester, Liverpool or Leeds. As Bid Manager your responsibilities will include: Leading strategy and proposition development on major bids to ensure win themes are clearly articulated at the outset of the bid process; Leading storyboarding workshops to develop clear structures for responses which articulate our win themes; Timely planning, management and completion of bid submissions; Organising the review of the submissions against client requirements for high quality and accuracy; Planning writing and coordinating bid responses; Producing clear answer schedules which enable technical authors to generate compelling draft content; Understanding and interpreting questions within the pre-qualification questionnaire and tender documents; Constructing relevant answers which clearly answer the clients’ question and portray the company in the best light; Ensuring accuracy and up to date information is placed in all tender and pre- qualification questionnaire documents; Maintaining records and stats relating to submissions and successes; Management and/or supervising employees, to include delegating responsibility, training and evaluating performance; Developing and mentoring fellow bid team members. As a Gleeds team member, you will have access to: Opportunities to develop and grow your career A contributory pension scheme Employee Assistance Programme Our global travel scholarship programme Flexible working arrangements About You Who we’re looking for: Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills As Bid Manager you will need to meet the following criteria: Minimum five years’ experience in bidding; Understanding of professional service and/or the building/property industry (desirable); Project management experience; Line management experience (preferred); Demonstrate experience managing large, sizable, successful bids; Demonstrate creativity and innovation through the production of bespoke documentation; Ability to plan and execute bid planning workshops with multiple attendees and complex team structures. Lead on internal projects and continuously improving the bid process. Build internal and external relationships with individuals associated with the bid process in order to create quality bids; Develop a creative approach to the writing and presentation of bids; Identify opportunities to enhance and improve the process, whilst sharing best practice with the team; Ensure the quality of the response and bid to reflect our company values; Travel to other Gleeds’ offices to support bid submissions; Champion the role of the Global Pursuit team around the company and dealing with ad- hoc queries; Key skills: Highly experienced in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional Word and PowerPoint formatting skills; Highly experienced in Adobe InDesign (preferred); Excellent command of both spoken and written English (mandatory); A proactive, self-motivated, enthusiastic and determined bid professional; Skilled in editing copy to correct grammar, spelling and punctuation and to ensure consistent standard and style; A team player and effective communicator able to establish and maintain harmonious and professional relationships with clients and colleagues; Work on own initiative, and to an exceedingly high quality; Able to multi-task and work to tight deadlines in high pressure situations; Possess strong organisational and project management skills; Flexible, results driven and keen to take responsibility; Manage delivery through multiple team members and internal/external stakeholders.
