You will study an SCQF 10 Graduate Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering to achieve a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering. This will take around 4 years to complete and you will attend Strathclyde University for your studies. You will work 40 hours per week in a hybrid pattern with 2-3 days in the office and the rest working from home while also making site visits when needed. During your apprenticeship You will learn from Avoves Civil Engineers, learning all aspects of Civil Engineering and then applying your knowledge to our live projects to ensure compliance with all relevant technical standards and that the delivery of all the specified project outcomes are on time, within budget and to the quality required. What your day could look like Learning to take on outline and detail design, both individually (under supervision) and as part of a wider team, for projects within certain timescales. Assisting with design support activities during construction. Developing your ability to gather and analyse information and report on findings. Learning how to apply the project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards. Being given and increasing amount of responsibility and ownership as your knowledge and skills develop. Learning to carrying out site visits, surveys and inspections. Learning how to prepare and check feasibility studies, inspection, assessment and technical reports and other written documents ensuring compliance with Avove procedures. Learning how to prepare/check design approach, calculations, drawings and documents. About you You will need the following to be eligible for this apprenticeship: Minimum of 4x Scottish Highers (minimum of B grades) including Maths. This apprenticeship is a September 2025 start and open all who have the right qualifications, so if you are still finishing your school/college studies you welcome you to apply for this role with your predicated grades. Due to the nature of the role, a full driving licence would be highly recommended. If you are currently learning to drive, we may be able to support financially towards this, dependent on meeting our criteria. This apprenticeship would particularly suit someone who has good digital skills and can use Microsoft office, if you have used any engineering software packages that would be an advantage. We would also like you to be able to show you have good written skills and can talk to others well. You will need to be super organised and have a good attention to detail. Being able to work in a team but also independently is important. For this apprenticeship, you need to be absolutely committed to becoming a Civil Engineer and studying for your degree you must be sure this is the career for you and have spent time researching it and be studying/have studied the right qualifications.
