Serco is recruiting for a Project Planner to join the Integrated Merlin Operations Support (IMOS) contract at RNAS Culdrose. The key purpose of this role is to support the Leonardo Input Managers and Serco Management in the operational performance of their role, whilst maintaining a compliant, efficient, and effective operation in line with contractual commitments and customer working procedures.
Main Accountabilities:
* Develop and maintain project schedules using industry-standard programming/scheduling software.
* Collaborate with Planning Lead and Leonardo MDMF Management to understand project requirements and constraints, ensuring alignment with resource availability.
* Utilise scheduling software to create detailed project schedules, including task sequencing, dependencies, and resource availability.
* Monitor and track aircraft progress, regularly updating schedules to reflect actual progress and identifying any deviations or delays.
* Consult with MDMF management to conduct resource planning and allocation, ensuring optimal utilisation of resources.
* Collaborate with Aircraft Engineering teams to identify critical paths, potential bottlenecks, and areas of resource conflicts, proposing solutions to mitigate risks and optimise project timelines.
* Generate reports and visualisations from scheduling software to communicate project status, critical milestones, and resource allocation to stakeholders.
* Continuously evaluate and refine project schedules, considering changing priorities, scope adjustments, and resource availability.
* Conduct what-if scenarios and simulations to assess the impact of changes, delays, or resource constraints on project schedules.
* Comply with all company health and safety regulations.
* Carry out administration tasks as required by Serco Management.
* Attend further training courses necessary for the job as required.
* Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and associated programmes when required.
What you’ll need to do the role:
* Able to obtain SC Clearance.
* Experience in managing and maintaining project schedules.
* Previous experience and a thorough working knowledge of project planning and lean operating procedures.
* Experience using MS Projects.
* Experience in Office 365.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety, including the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
* Completion of a Maintenance Human Factors Course.
* Excellent leadership and people management experience.
* An excellent capability to work productively, efficiently, and effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining operational outputs.
