Overview
MCL require an experienced Senior / Lead Structural Engineer to join our Aberdeen clients expanding team.
Duration: 12 months +
Location: Clients offices in Aberdeen (City Centre) - Hybrid working is acceptable but our client does expect the successful applicant to be based in the office 3 days per week.
Rate: Circa £60.00 per hour (Ltd company rate)

Responsibilities
1. Assist the Engineering Manager/Lead Structural Engineer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost, and schedules
2. Work to ensure the implementation of safety and integrity principles in structural documentation.
3. Promote compliance with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures for all design activities.
4. Maintain structural engineering work procedures, specifications, and computer aided design programs.
5. Prepare engineering calculations.
6. Prepare technical specifications based on input received from other disciplines.
7. Prepare and contribute to technical memos and reports, within areas of expertise.
8. Provide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates.
9. Prepare and/or review project standard specifications and design criteria.
10. Participate in and contribute to design reviews.
11. Carry out assigned tasks within budget and schedule.
12. Stamp documents and drawings as required and if appropriately registered.
13. Manage small capital and maintenance projects.
14. Assist in defining project scope. Perform site visit to various client site for review, inspection, and assessment of existing structures.
15. Assist in preparing proposals.
16. Review and evaluate technical work prepared by junior engineers, intermediate engineers, designers, technicians, and technologists.
17. Assist in the compilation and delivery of weekly/monthly engineering status reports.
We are looking for applicants who have a Lead style / autonomous capability with previous Oil and Gas experience onshore and offshore, drilling and topsides engineering preferred
Qualifications
18. Bachelor's degree in structural engineering or in a related field
19. 8+ years of experience working in engineering
20. Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
21. Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems
22. Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Smart Plant or similar
23. Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
24. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
25. Must be self-motivated and a great team worker
