Job responsibilities
Job summary
Theprimary focus of the role is to work as an autonomous practitioner providinghigh quality and timely patient centred care.
Thepost holder will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment,referral and discharge of a diverse range of patients with minor injuries/minorillnesses, without reference to a doctor and within their level of competenceand agreed protocols.
Clinical practice
Assess,diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment/interventions and care forpatients presenting with an undifferentiated diagnosis both in the surgery andin the patients own home
Clinicallyexamine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychologicalperspective, and plan clinical care accordingly
Diagnoseand manage acute conditions
Supplyand administer medicines as indicated to address patient need, where necessaryworking to Patient Group Directives.
Prioritisehealth problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex,urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergencycare
Supportpatients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles,and apply principles of self-care
Communication
Utiliseand demonstrate sensitive communication styles, to ensure patients are fullyinformed and consent to treatment

Safeguarding
Thecare and protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults who havecontact with the Practice is the responsibility of all members of staff,irrespective of individual roles. Allmembers of staff share the responsibility for safeguarding and promoting thewelfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Tothis end all members of staff are to ensure that they have completed, at leastannually, safeguarding, domestic violence and prevent training.
