Our core business activities are teaching and learning, widening access to education, research and innovation and technology and knowledge transfer. - THE ROLE - The Public Relations Officer will be part of an engaged and dedicated PR and comms team and transform our approach to storytelling. This will include; - Working closely with the wider team, development and delivery of an integrated, segment focused PR approach and plan to support the Universitys corporate strategy. - Responsibility for the delivery of proactive and reactive Media Relations and Public Relations activity. - Maximising the potential of a range of digital channels to address a wide range of stakeholder groups and customer segments. The postholder will exemplify a strong partnership approach, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and they will be highly commercial, customer centric and capable of developing and executing a plan to deliver on challenging objectives. - ABOUT YOU - 1. You will work closely with the wider team, developing and delivering an integrated, segment focused PR approach and plan to support the Universitys strategy including: a. Acting as a key contributor to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of appropriate integrated PR plans as a key component of the Strategic Marketing Plan in support of the Universitys corporate strategy. b. Evaluating performance of the plan, providing summaries to include volumes and themes of coverage, performance of digital channels etc. 2. You will be responsible for the delivery of proactive and reactive Media Relations and Public Relations activity including: a. Developing positive working relationships with print, broadcast and online media locally, nationally and internationally, developing a portfolio of key contacts. b. Working with academics and students in designated faculties and associated research institutes to develop bespoke articles for newspaper, magazine or online publications, that will raise public awareness of academic leadership and expertise. 3. You will maximise the potential of a range of digital channels to address a wide range of stakeholder groups and customer segments including: a. Working with colleagues in Marketing and Communications to develop video and other digitally optimised material. b. Posting, monitoring and managing content in a range of social media corporate accounts.
