What will you be doing?
Helping deliver a positive and inclusive workplace culture, fostering employee engagement, morale and satisfaction through effective communication, recognition and initiatives that promote a sense of belonging and shared purpose.
We are searching for an experienced People Advisor with a solid generalist background, that will play a key role in advising and supporting front line managers and employees on a wide-range of people related topics. Effectively managing high volume operational workload at pace, whilst proactively identifying opportunities to improve our ways of working, processes and support delivery of projects and initiatives into the field. Help foster a positive work environment by promoting best practices and ensuring compliance with employment law.
You will play a significant role in ensuring a professional and standardised way of working within a complex environment. You will work across multiple stakeholders to provide an effective people service. Reporting to the People Business Partner for, you will;
* Work closely with front line managers, coaching and mentoring them in all generalist HR activities, whilst working in partnership with our centres of excellence to deliver a best in class service
* Support the People Business Partner with the execution and delivery of key change projects and initiatives, delivering the process and people outputs
* Support stakeholders to deliver their local engagement plan ensuring actions are monitored and delivered, fostering a positive work environment.
* Where required provide specific training in people related topics, where there are capability gaps
* Monitor and report on disciplinary & grievance, performance management, absence casework whilst working closely with the centres of excellence. Work proactively to upskill and reduce future cases.
* As we embed our ways of working with our centres of excellence, implement agreed ways of working and processes effectively within your business area/s
* Provide data and reporting on key trends and areas of focus to set priorities and deliver against these.
* Focus on identifying and developing talent to future proof and retain.
* Build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes. This includes the centres of excellence to ensure operational needs are met.
* Provide an exceptional administrative service working in conjunction with our People Services team, complying with policy and in some cases supporting the broader business with people related activity if and when required.
We are keen to receive applications from candidates who:
* Have experience working in a complex environment with a strong generalist background
* Are able to work autonomously and on own initiative to deliver an excellent people service and identify areas of improvement
* Can demonstrable knowledge of employment law and people practices
* Operate with a good level of IT skills for reporting and data
* Are willing to travel as and when required to build credible relationships within a field based environment
* Can work with confidence in a complex, fast paced environment
Where will you be working?
The role will be hybrid working partly at their offices in Newcastle, working from home and occasional nationwide travel
