My client is currently recruiting for a Stock and Allocation Assistant to join our Allocation team on the outskirts of Maidstone. This role is key in ensuring correct allocation of our stock and that it is processed in a timely, efficient and systematic manner, meeting the required varied specifications for all our customers.
The working days for this role will be Friday-Tuesday (5 days per week), working hours may vary depending on business needs but will usually be between 7am-5pm .
They are one of the leading soft fruit suppliers in the UK delivering a high quality, premium produce with many supply chain partners.
Responsibilities
1. Allocate material for each order/job sheet in a timely & efficient manner via Prophet.
2. Liaise with all areas of the business, working closely with Procurement, Technical Supply Chain and Sales team.
3. Ensure preferred authorised material is used to complete orders.
4. Clear understanding of arrivals for the current and following day.
5. Review raw material quality/packaging ahead of allocation to ensure correct standards and tracks are being set.
6. Escalate any concerns to ensure risks are not made to finish product quality.
7. Understand opening stock and expected arrivals ensuring any shortages are planned out and that excess stock is managed in a timely manner.
8. Carry out/monitor any stock discrepancies.
9. Co-ordinate the use of return product from retailers - liaise with Product Manager.
10. Ensure all products allocated meet the required authorised specification.
11. Actively engage in the round up process, plus other required meetings.
Candidate Profile
1. Evidence of extensive experience working in a comparable role, preferably within the soft fruit industry.
2. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
3. Ability to integrate with personnel at all levels.
4. Ability to delegate effectively and to follow-up as appropriate.
5. Ability to work alone, using own initiative & as part of a team.
6. Ability to work systematically with a keen eye for detail.
7. Good organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, planning time and priorities.
8. Ability to respond and make decisions quickly when under pressure.
9. Willingness to work unsocial hours, including weekends and Bank Holidays.
10. Willingness to work in chilled area and packhouse environment.
