Solution Architect x 2
About the Role:
Wirral Council is embarking on an ambitious customer centric, data driven, digital transformation journey. This is an exciting time to join a forward thinking, digitally focussed Council. To drive this transformation, Wirral Council is seeking two Solution Architects to provide architectural services across the Council.
The role will support the development, maintenance and performance of the architectural vision and ensure solutions are designed to meet service areas and the Councils strategic requirements and will be pivotal in achieving integration across systems as well as driving cloud adoption.
Responsibilities
* Demonstrate technical leadership with an understanding of business goals and processes, to conceptualise and create solution architecture designs that meet business needs and align with the strategic vision.
* Collaborate closely with product owners, sponsors, technical teams, and external vendors to deliver the architectural design of technology solutions.
* Review and validate digital delivery and third-party designs to ensure alignment with architecture principles.
* Work in an agile team to develop/deliver the solution and support team members.
* Identify, manage, and mitigate both technical and commercial risk.
* Focus on continuous improvement and innovation to create a better future for our residents.
About the candidate:
You will have a passion to make a difference and have the ability to see opportunities for improvement through the use of Digital and Data, and to design and implement solutions. You will be able to work independently as well as communicating at all levels across the organisation, inspiring and building enthusiasm in the digital space.
You will have experience working in complex organisations, and a detailed knowledge of solution architecture and its applications.
What skills and experience will you have?
* Proven experience in solutions architecture with a technical background in either IT infrastructure or application development.
* Proven experience in delivering solutions utilising cloud technologies, preferably MS Azure.
* Experience with technical debt management and modernisation of legacy systems.
* Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to influence outcomes – strong interpersonal skills are essential
* Awareness of IT industry trends to enable best-fit solutions to be found.
* The ability to plan and rationalise project goals working from limited information and ending in a holistic design.
* Decisiveness – be capable of presenting proposed solutions with confidence, providing clear guidance for outcomes.
* Flexibility and a desire to learn.
