I am partnering with a leading specialty insurance business looking for a Head of Data Architecture to play a critical role in shaping and delivering their data strategy. This is a hands-on role, and they are not looking for an Enterprise Architect – they need someone who can roll up their sleeves and drive the technical direction of their data architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own and evolve the company’s data architecture, ensuring it aligns with business needs and regulatory requirements.
* Design, implement, and optimise data solutions on Azure and Snowflake, ensuring scalability and performance.
* Lead the development of data models, pipelines, and integration strategies across the business.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across underwriting, actuarial, claims, and finance teams to ensure data accessibility and usability.
* Establish data governance best practices, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance within the Lloyd’s insurance market.
* Work closely with engineering and analytics teams to ensure best-in-class data solutions.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in a hands-on data architecture role, ideally within the Lloyd’s insurance market.
* Deep technical expertise with Azure and Snowflake, including architecture, security, and performance optimisation.
* Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, and modern data warehousing techniques.
* Experience in building and optimising scalable data platforms and pipelines.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into business value.
