The Position Newly Weds® Foods Ltd is an incredibly successful food ingredients manufacturing business. We are currently seeking to recruit a Production Planner to help support our Planning Supervisor and Supply Chain Team. Reporting into the Planning Supervisor, you will be based at our European Head Office in Ossett, West Yorkshire. The business is a real success story and the supply chain team consistently supports significant growth year on year. The successful candidate will manage, develop and co-ordinate all available resources of plant and materials in order to ensure effective and efficient outputs that are within the agreed parameters of safety, hygiene, cost quality and quantity. You will strive for continuous improvement in all areas through cross-functional co-ordination and liaison. Key Responsibilities Scheduling of all Blending department products, including rusk and crumb in achieving planning requirements at minimum cost to labour and waste. Ensure accurate schedule of production is created on a daily basis from works orders information provided by the Customer Service team and Unity data. Create and maintain a rework plan that ensures re-work product is reintroduced to the process at the earliest opportunity and floor stock levels are kept to a minimum. Maintain and update all information relating to the scheduling process. This includes machine speeds, efficiencies, batch times and allergen segregation. Work with production management to identify areas of waste in the process, proposing and implementing improvement measures. Schedule and follow up of all pre-determined clean down processes. Ensure all efficiency and run rate information held is accurate, reviewed and updated on a regular basis. Advise production management of priorities and any amendments that occur. Liaise with the Technical Department with regards to the organisation and scheduling of production trials. Person Specification Previous experience of working within an FMCG environment is essential, ideally in food. Strong knowledge of MRP. Excellent time management and organisation skills. Excellent coordination and communication skills. Excellent analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail. Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines. Ability to problem solve, negotiate & work with adaptable situations. Ability to work under pressure individually and as part of a team. Flexible approach to working to fast moving, changing demands. Fully proficient in Microsoft Office. Positive can-do attitude with the willingness to learn. Hours of work This is a full-time position, working a basic 37.5-hour week, Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm, although given the nature of the role, some flexibility may be required.
