Position: ASD Support Assistant
Location: Oxford – Autism focused
Are you interested in pursuing a career in psychology or behavioural therapy? Would you like to advocate for young children on the autistic spectrum?
One of the leading specialist schools in Oxford, South East England, for students with Autism, has a new opening for a 1-1 support role for students with complex Autism and Learning Disabilities. They are seeking graduates with relevant education to join their staff team. Candidates with relevant SEN experience and knowledge will also be considered. The SEN School is in Swindon, supporting students aged 3-11. As an ASD Support Assistant, you will provide consistent, quality support to ensure high-quality care and tailored assistance during their educational journey.
Experience in a similar role is desirable but not mandatory. Graduates with qualifications in related fields (e.g., Psychology, Criminology, Sociology) will also be considered. You will work on a 1-1 basis with a student in small classes, alongside therapists, psychologists, and other support staff.
This position offers the opportunity to work alongside on-site therapists and psychologists. You will receive coaching and mentoring, with chances to shadow experienced professionals, gaining invaluable experience working with children with Special Needs and Complex Learning Disabilities. It is an excellent opportunity for those interested in Psychology, Behavioural Therapy, or Educational Psychology.
