About the Role
Base Location: Cardiff, Reading or Perth – This is a hybrid role working a minimum of two days a week from the office at the advertised location.
Salary: £41,583 – £48,296 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
What is the Role?
The Commercial function supports Business Energy in making great decisions, backed by great numbers. One of the responsibilities of the team is to forecast future costs and revenue for the business for use in financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic decision-making. As a Commercial Analyst, you will support in the upkeep and development of this commercial modelling capability and is a great opportunity for someone who wants to use and further develop their analytical skills in a commercial function.
As part of your role you will:
1. Bring together various non-commodity costs from across the business including government levy forecasts, network charges, and other indirect costs.
2. Help to pull together a coherent pricing strategy, to deliver tariffs and new propositions, focusing on providing deeper thinking on pricing issues.
3. Build and develop financial models to support decisions from P&L Forecasting, Hedging, Pricing, and Customer Targeting.
4. Deliver bespoke commercial and financial models and analysis to support all business units.
5. Conduct strategic analysis of segmented data to assist the business in delivering future value.
What do I need?
We are looking for someone with excellent commercial understanding and great interaction skills as we are often involved with all teams across Business Energy. To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
1. Strong awareness and understanding of the utilities market.
2. Demonstrated understanding of financial principles, terms, and concepts through previous experience.
3. Strong analytical skills and be a numerical problem-solver.
4. Excellent working knowledge of Excel and programming skills DAX, VBA, etc.
5. Demonstrated experience in using PowerBI and Power Pivot.
