Finance and Accounting Assistant - Apprentice - AAT Level 2
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our finance team in Salford on an AAT Level 2 Apprenticeship. This role involves providing key support to both a fast-paced Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable team, covering tasks such as billing, cash processing, purchase ledger processing, and variance analysis support across multiple group entities within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
* Comparing purchase ledger invoice details to a purchase order schedule.
* Identifying variances and referring them to the appropriate person for investigation and resolution.
* Coding and processing purchase ledger invoices.
Cash Collection
* Reconciling cash received and ensuring prompt posting and accurate allocation across multi-currency accounts.
* Monitoring trends and providing reporting on unallocated cash position.
* Monitoring daily cash received to ensure accurate information is available for reporting purposes.
* Processing self-billing invoices to tight timescales with attention to detail.
* Preparing and reconciling applications for payment.
* Ensuring all relevant invoices are raised on client partner portals in a timely and accurate manner.
* Processing Intercompany and other recharges.
* Processing credit notes per the Group policy.
Account Management
* Providing a high level of professional service to clients in all interactions.
* Providing statements to clients on a monthly basis.
Essential qualifications for AAT Level 2:
GCSE or equivalent in:
* Basic Maths (grade 9/A* - 4/C)
A Level or equivalent in:
* Any (grade A-C)
Skills:
* Strong all-round Microsoft Office experience, including basic level Excel skills.
* High degree of organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and produce high-quality results within tight deadlines.
* Accuracy and attention to detail with a proactive attitude.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to form relationships with stakeholders and ensure process management.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Process-driven and able to identify improvements and opportunities.
