We are looking to appoint a Clerk to the Board of Governors for Kingsmead School, to start as soon as possible. The post holder will provide efficient and professional administrative support, and whilst the post does not require an understanding of Governance, we are looking for someone who has a interest in this area and a willingness to design and implement processes to help advance our current working practices.
As the Clerk to Governors, you will be required to provide:
* Administrative Support : Prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, and papers for governing body meetings.
* Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records of the governing body's work and ensure statutory compliance.
* Advisory Role : Provide procedural and legislative advice to the governing body and its committees (support is available for this).
* Meeting Coordination : Schedule, attend, and minute all governing body meetings (most meetings tend to be on a Tuesday evening).
* Communication : Act as a liaison between the governing body, school, and external stakeholders.
* Training and Development : Arrange and coordinate training sessions for governors.
The role requires someone who is an accurate note taker, pays attention to details, is efficient, has a calm manner, a flexible working approach and excellent organisation skills.
Hours of work are 10 hours per week, term time only + INSET days. Working days to be agreed with the successful candidate but meetings are held on Tuesday evenings. The start date is dependant on the successful candidates availability.
The starting salary is Point 4-6 £23,114-£23,893 per annum, pro rata (pay award pending). Most appointments start on Point 4, but this will depend on your experience. Based on 10 hours per week, term-time only + INSETS, the actual salary would be £5,351-£5,531 per annum.
