What’s involved?
The main purpose of the role is overall control of the sales ledger. This includes ensuring that customers pay to terms, collection of cash and speedy query resolution to ensure credit terms are not extended. This role is key in assessing new/existing customers for appropriate credit limits and terms by liaising with our credit insurance broker and management of debt unpaid as well as exception reporting.
Key role responsibilities
* Overall responsibility for Sales ledger
* Ensure invoices are posted and cash allocated on a daily basis
* Provide a daily aged debt snapshot by customer
* Resolving queries with customers in a timely manner
* Contacting customers to request payment
* Credit checking and ensuring insurance limits are up to date and monitoring customers’ balances to ensure they do not exceed these limits
* Monitoring all customers adherence to terms and flagging non adherence
* Supervision of 2 team members.
Job Commitments
This is a hybrid role, working 3 days at our Hull offices. The role is full time 37.5 hours per week, however we would consider part time hours.
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous supervisor & credit control experience so that you can hit the ground running. You should be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word as well as having excellent attention to detail and great organisation skills.
We are looking for someone who communicates well (verbally and in writing) and is able to exercise discretion as well as having the ability to work flexibly in meeting the challenges within the finance team.
