This advert is open to both Internal and External applicants.
Staffordshire and Stoke Coroners Service Team at Stoke on Trent City Council is expanding, and, as a result of this we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who possesses all the key qualities to join our team.
To be part of our team and able to deliver this vital role, you will need to be confident in dealing sensitively and professionally with people, particularly those who are vulnerable and/or distressed. You will need to liaise with bereaved families, police, medical personnel, and other internal and external agencies as required to ensure that all inquests undertaken by the Senior Coroner fulfill his statutory duties.
You will be able to demonstrate your capability to produce accurate work, paying meticulous attention to detail, and you will also be able to clearly evidence excellent organisational, administrative, and time management skills.
The Ideal Candidate:
With proven administrative, IT, and communication skills, you will have the ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and handle complex sensitive information with attention to detail. We don’t expect applicants to have worked in this sector before, but experience is welcomed and would suit anyone wishing to work in a court environment.
We’re keen to hear from candidates who have worked in other bereavement sectors within a support capacity and who can demonstrate the behaviours needed that we can develop into the skills required for this role. If you are a team player with a can-do attitude who would like the opportunity to join us, please contact Sam Woodward, Acting Coroners Service Manager at sam.woodward@stoke.gov.uk.
Please note that if an employee who is currently at risk of redundancy within the organisation applies for this vacancy, their application will receive priority. If this happens, you will be advised accordingly.
