Providing a business partnering role to the wider organisation. Reporting to & support the Head of Finance and Governance by assisting in the management of the quality and effectiveness of the organisation's finance and governance affairs. Management of Accounting & Payroll - Manage the day to day running of the Accounting function through the use of appropriate systems, processes, policies, procedures and practices to meet the needs of the business, ensuring that all policies and procedures meet the requirements of the relevant legislation and reflect best practice models. Exercise an important central governance function which promotes and embeds the risk management process. Attend & participate in Quarterly Governance Meetings with Senior Management. Provide leadership and management in relation to the development of departmental strategy and policies Communication and Management - Demonstrate a high level of personal integrity and maintain professional standards throughout the corporate services function. What you'll need to succeed Successfully completed the professional examinations and be a full, current member of one of the professional bodies eg ACCA, ACA, CIMA etc. Have a minimum of two years' post qualification practical experience in each of the following areas: Preparation or audit of financial statements in accordance with UK Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Preparation or audit of end of year accounts for an organisation with a budget in excess of £10m Management accounting and costing systems, and financial performance reporting systems. Preparing, managing and monitoring budgets and the allocation of resources. Strategic Planning and Decision Support. Production of reports for management/committees. Have a minimum of three years' experience of leading, managing and motivating staff to achieve individual and team objectives. Be able to demonstrate experience of delivering in a business partnering role, supporting a range of internal and external stakeholders, providing support around a range of finance services.
