Job Title: Configuration Engineer Location: Cowes, we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role. Salary: Up to £45,000 dependent on experience What you’ll be doing: Providing assistance to the Configuration Manager (CM) and assisting with the day-to-day activities on both development (in house) and support (customer facing) activities Assisting in the running of the configuration Control board and providing supporting information, minutes etc Reviewing and approving Change Forms for completion and accuracy Assisting the Configuration Manager in maintaining the Build State of each delivered radar system Assisting the CM in the creation and processing of changes that require customer approval Interpreting the Build State data supplied by the customer and make changes to the company’s database where necessary Supporting the CM regarding conflict / query resolution Producing the information to be used in customer audits and then assisting in the creation of the audit reports to the satisfaction of all attendees both internal and external Your skills and experiences: HNC qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline or proven experience working in a CM or Change Control environment, at or working towards IEng status (or equivalent) High degree of IT literacy, level of initiative with an eye for detail and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of the project team The ability to communicate effectively at all levels and must be able to work with minimal supervision, be pro-active, diligent, have strong team-working ability and be committed to a delivery culture Knowledge of CM principles, processes and standards, nationally and internationally would be desirable but not essential Benefits: You’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. The BAE Systems Naval Radar team: BAE Systems Naval Radar provides Radar products and support services to a diverse range of customers worldwide. This role will provide configuration management support as part of a team currently delivering new radar systems to non-UK customers and also delivering capability upgrades to the Royal Navy over the next 10 years. You will also have the opportunity to develop and enhance your skills and knowledge, with the potential to move into a Configuration managers or consultancy role in the future.
