JOB DESCRIPTION
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 14-year-old boy living in the Abercynon area. I have ASD, plus I am awaiting diagnosis of ADHD and Tourette’s. I do not like raised voices or being told ‘no’ a lot. I am physically able and verbal. I would not be able to be left unattended at any point, as I have limited safety awareness and anxiety issues. I have some sensory issues with clothing, noises and smells. I like gaming and would like help to make videos for Youtube and Instagram. I also like going swimming, out for food and for drives in the car. I need help making and maintaining friendships. I also need to be encouraged to try new things and experiences.
PURPOSE OF JOB
The main purpose of the job is to support me in the community and with social activities.
HOURS OF WORK
6 hours per week
RATES OF PAY
£12.50 per hour
TASKS INVOLVED
Accompany me when out and about
Taking me to activities I enjoy
Support me to help make videos for Youtube and Instagram
Some help with personal care (changing into and out of clothing)
Support with helping making and maintaining friendships and also encourage me to try new things
Ensure my safety is priority at all times
Encourage my interaction & independence
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
PA to act as a ‘role model’ and who is open to talk about lots of different subjects
Someone who has a good sense of humour, is kind, patient and not easily offended
Knowledge of ‘stimming’ would be an advantage
Driver/Car Owner needed with business class insurance
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given.
The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
