We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead projects delivering high-technology engineering products. Will need extensive experience in project managing teams in mechanical, electronic and process engineering, product certification, and transfer to manufacture. The role will plan and execute development projects in a fast-paced Agile environment to meet business, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
You will need to have at least 5 years of experience in managing projects of this nature and experience managing the full life cycle.
Responsibilities:
Plan projects from concept to manufacturing release, defining organisations, work breakdowns, work packages, and deliverables using the gated PEP process.
Track and monitor scope, schedule, and cost, using KPIs to ensure effective delivery.
Report progress, analyze metrics, resolve issues, and proactively manage schedules.
Manage finances, forecasting and reviewing costs monthly with the finance team.
Ensure stakeholder collaboration, resolve challenges, manage dependencies, and communicate changes effectively.
Work with discipline leads to allocate and manage engineering resources.
Identify and manage risks and opportunities to maintain accurate Estimate At Completion (EAC).
Integrate continuous improvement loops into workflows to boost delivery efficiency.
Support the Programme Manager in applying and improving project management practices.
Build and model a culture of trust, collaboration, and accountability.Essential Skills and Experience:
5+ years’ experience managing multiple, complex projects simultaneously.
Proven ability to deploy technology to high-reliability manufactured products in fast-changing, customer-driven environments.
Extensive experience managing multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical, electronic, and process engineering) and facilitating transfer to production.
Strong collaboration skills, coordinating technical and non-technical teams across geographies.
Background in engineering with the ability to understand technical challenges.
Competence in Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and hosting ceremonies.
Proficiency with Microsoft and Atlassian Jira project management tools.
Financial acumen, including managing costs for people and materials.
Commitment to quality and timely delivery.
Availability to work in the Cambridge office as required.
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
Recognised Project Management and Agile certifications.
Experience with Scaled Agile frameworks.
Contributions to continuous improvement initiatives
