The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Engineer with supportability experience to join their team. In this role, you will influence and advise various business functions, engineering, project managers, bid teams, services, portfolio managers, and sales by promoting and implementing ILS activities. You will also identify and manage ILS risks to support projects.
Primary activities include:
* Carrying out supportability analysis for new and in-service products and systems.
* Providing confidence in meeting internal and external customer ILS support requirements.
* Sustaining growth of the service and support function within the business.
* Providing ILS insights to portfolio managers, campaign managers, and BU leadership for supportability requirements.
* Supporting engineering in supportability analysis.
* Keeping managers informed of risks, issues, and progress related to ILS functions, and escalating matters as needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivering ILS service support across key functions to meet cost and profitability targets.
* Developing and delivering project ILS strategies, plans, and reports.
* Working with engineering, production, and supply chain for supportability reporting and assurance.
* Managing responses to RFPs, ITTs, SoWs, and contract specifications.
* Supporting business growth as an ILS SME in bids and agreements.
* Assisting engineering with FMECA, RBD, and MTBF production.
Education and Qualifications
* Degree or HND/HNC in electrical or mechanical engineering or relevant defence industry experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Experience with bid responses, customer requirements, cost estimation, and bid content including ILS/IPS plans.
* Experience supporting low volume, high-value products in regulated environments.
* Knowledge of through-life support standards like DEF STAN 00-600, 00-40, 00-42, Mil Std 217F, and KiD.
* Experience working with customers in a matrix-managed team.
* Good knowledge of MOD support frameworks and their application.
