We are delighted to offer this exciting new post that will enable to appointee to gain invaluable teaching experience. This post will offer opportunities to candidates to gain practical experience of delivering teaching sessions and learn latest evidence based medical education practices. The post holder will participate in exclusively teaching and teaching-related activities during the daytime and that clinical work will be restricted to mainly on call work at registrar level on a 1 in 8 rota with prospective cover in acute children's services based in Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor.
Based in North West Wales, an area of outstanding natural beauty, encompassing Snowdonia Natural Park and miles of coastline and sandy beaches, a veritable playground.
Located close to larger urban areas in North West England, with easy transport links.
Main duties of the job
The department currently has 8.6 WTE consultants and we run a Service Week model. One of the consultants chooses to contribute to the second on call rota. The tier 1 rota consists of GP trainees, FY2, FY3 and stand alone doctors. The second rota consists of non-training permanent staff grade doctors.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* MRCPCH or equivalent
* Full GMC Registration
Experience
* At least 4 years of paediatric experience, not including foundation modules (with 6-12 months of neonatal experience)
* Must have competencies to work at registrar level.
* Must be able to work at registrar level
* Second on-call UK experience.
* Experience in a level 2 or 3 neonatal unit at Middle grade /Registrar level.
* Previous clinical experience of Child Protection cases.
* Minimum 24 month NHS paediatric and neonatal experience
Qualities
* Good team worker.
Training
* Willingness to expand practice and skills in order to keep up to date with new developments.
* Evidence of achievement of Level 1 paediatric capabilities at time of application and intended start date, as outlined in the Paediatric RCPCH Progress Curriculum.
* Willingness to develop specialty interest.
Teaching
* Willingness to participate in teaching.
* Evidence of formal teaching training.
Audit
* Regular attendance at departmental audit meetings.
* Involvement in clinical audit with presentations at departments/hospital audit meetings.
Others
* Basic IT skills.
* Microsoft Office or equivalent
* Be able to provide complete details of their employment history
* Experience of hospital pathology/radiology information systems.
