Job Title: Pastoral Support Officer
Location: Sherborne
Salary: £22,139 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only)
Contract: Full time, Permanent
An alternative provision school based in the Sherborne area is looking for a Pastoral Support Officer to join their dynamic and supportive team. The school prides itself on their ability to provide the right support and interventions to allow their students to be successful.
As a Pastoral Support Officer:
* You will oversee and manage the behaviour of students within the school.
* You will be responsible for implementing strategies and interventions to support students in developing positive behaviours and attitudes towards learning.
* You will be accountable for ensuring students are safe and have their needs met.
* You will assist in the running of the day-to-day operations of the pastoral department.
* You will be required to work with external parties to achieve appropriate support for pupils, this may include families, social services, police, etc.
Attributes and skills of a Pastoral Support Officer:
* Being resilient and instinctive.
* Being able to work independently and follow policies and procedures.
* Having a high level of flexibility.
* Having a genuine interest in working in an educational setting.
To work with GSL Education as a Pastoral Support Officer, you should:
* Have the right to work in the UK.
* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
* Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
