The role of IT Director is to oversee the companys technology infrastructure and manage the IT teams based in London and New York, while also working closely with the team in New Zealand to ensure seamless collaboration and coordination. Implementing, managing and consolidating systems, processes and policies as required as the business evolves; ensuring that they are effectively meeting the business requirements. The IT Director will need to work closely with stakeholders across the business to continuously improve The Boundarys infrastructure, systems and network.
This is an office based role but with global travel as required.
Responsibilities
1. Developing the organisations IT vision and translating it into actionable goals
2. Directing the sourcing and implementation of new software and hardware
3. Formulating and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery plans
4. Coordinating IT activities to ensure the availability of network services and data
5. Identifying future challenges in the IT landscape and developing mitigation strategies
6. Control budget and report on expenditure
7. Directing IT staff recruitment and directly supervising employees
8. Identifying security vulnerabilities and eliminating them with strategic solutions
9. Identifying and recommending new technology solutions
10. Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management
11. Purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software
12. Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
13. Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
Requirements
1. Proven experience as IT director or similar role
2. Sound knowledge of IT systems, specifications, networks and computer systems
3. Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
4. Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc
5. Experience in controlling information technology budget
6. Excellent leadership, prioritization and organisational skills
7. Problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset
8. Project planning and management skills
9. Outstanding communication abilities
10. Ability to communicate to tech-savvy and non-technical staff
11. BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus
