To deliver this in the Southeast of England, 77 Army Education Centre Group in Aldershot and Bicester deliver a range of Army education courses and ensure Service Personnel have the skills and leadership they require to excel in their current, future, and post-Army roles. The Group Admin Manager (GAM) is required to collaborate with a range of roles ranging from military officers and civilian teachers who deliver educational courses to line management of administrative clerks. All work together in a highly integrated team to deliver our key output, which is the delivery of outstanding education and whole life development services to Service personnel. The Group Administrative Manager (GAM) is a crucial leader in the day-to-day running of Army Education Services who works closely with the military Officer Commanding and Second-in-Command to make course delivery possible. This includes oversight of the processes to load students onto courses, facilitate their de-livery, acquire resources, handle IT and data, Health & Safety compliance amongst other functions. We have 14 military staff and 13 civilian staff. It is led by the Officer Commanding (OC) 77 AEC Group - a military officer (Major - C2 grade equivalent) who values collaborative working, innovation and achieving outputs as a team. The GAM works directly to the OC and is a critical member of the planning team which manages and assures the organisation. Job description Line Management. Act as Line Manager for up to 5 x Administrative Officers (AO) in Aldershot and Bicester, and all day-to-day management of clerical staff functions. Administration. Provide effective oversight of course administration (Army Leadership Development Programme/Officer Career Development/Functional Skills/Languages/Army Trainer Capability courses to ensure effective record keeping and to maintain quantitative data to provide returns to our parent organisation, Headquarters ETS(South). Personnel policy. Act as a subject matter expert on Civil Service personnel management policy and processes. Guide and support military staff in carrying out their Civil Service management duties. Coordination of the personal and professional development of up to 5 x AO clerical staff. Working within and supporting a team. Co-ordinate the induction of all new staff and act as focal point for the recording of mandatory training across the group Information Management (IM). With training, able to act as the data Protection Officer, IT Security Officer and Local Security Officer for the centre, ensuring the AEC conforms with current policy and regulations and manage AEC data on a SharePoint site. Manage mandated updates and records across the Group and ensure these are completed and implemented on time. Building maintenance. Coordinate all building maintenance and equipment improvement requests across the AEC Gp to ensure these are submitted to the appropriate agency for action within the lo-cal area. This is a coordination function that requires liaison with key stakeholders rather than physical action. Health and safety. Oversee official accounts and registers, ensuring all records are up to date through liaison with Quartermaster departments, where applicable. Act as the point of contact for Fire and Health & Safety issues across the AEC Gp, making sure all Fire and Health and Safety regulations are followed, and notice boards are updated. Person specification The Group Administrative Manager (GAM) manages and coordinates all administrative and enabling functions across 77 Army Education Centre (AEC) Group and line manages members of the Course Administrator and Centre Administrator teams in both Aldershot and Bicester AECs. The GAM is a focal point involved in supporting change initiatives, administrative processes, building management and personnel management. The role also involves a large amount of interaction with the centres staff as well as liaison with other external stakeholders in the local area. The establishment and maintenance of effective working relationships is important and the incumbent will be able to see and feel that they are actively contributing to the educational services delivered. The GAM has a number of standing responsibilities, but the incumbent is also likely to regularly face new challenges and will provide support to staff in the event of unexpected events, such as a problem in the building or an IT failure.
