An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join a leading packaging company. This role focuses on ensuring supplier compliance, improving quality standards, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain. You will work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and key stakeholders to maintain high-quality manufacturing standards. Naturally, someone from packaging would be ideal for the role and note that 20% of this position will require you be abroad perhaps 2 weeks at a time. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain supplier quality assurance processes to meet company and regulatory standards. Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and performance evaluations to ensure compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements. Work closely with suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and drive continuous improvements. Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues, ensuring effective root cause analysis and problem resolution. Collaborate with procurement teams to develop supplier quality plans and ensure smooth production processes. Monitor key quality metrics, such as defect rates, supplier performance, and cost of quality. Support new supplier qualification and onboarding processes. Travel globally where you will visit other global suppliers to ensure quality standard are met. Key Requirements: Proven experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer (or similar role) within a packaging or very similar industry. Strong knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or equivalent) and auditing procedures. Experience in conducting supplier audits. Experience in supplier management, quality control, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean). Excellent problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and corrective action processes. Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.
