Pertemps Reading are currently recruiting for a Production Operative to join a leading brick manufacturing company based in Thatcham. A successful Production Operative will be able to work a Day/Night monthly rota with 12 hours shifts. This Production Operative role is for the separator section. The purpose of the Separator section is: - To inspect, separate and sort blocks received from the autoclaves. - To pass good saleable material on to the packer, and dispose of any waste material. - To supply the mixer with plates. - To transport freshly cut cakes from the cutting line to the autoclaves using the cross crane. Main Duties & Responsibilities for a Production Operative: To comply with all company and section safety guidelines and instructions. To comply with all section instructions and procedures. To ensure that all material meets the relevant quality standards. To complete all relevant paperwork to a high accuracy standard. To undertake "on line" testing of blocks and enter the results onto the PC. To keep the area clean and tidy at all times. Be familiar with all Safe Systems Of Work and Risk Assessments for the section. Ensure that only good quality product is passed onto the packer. Monitor the performance of the separator machine and update the factory monitoring system (Intouch) with the details of any stoppages. Escalate to the maintenance team any plant issues which are affecting efficiency. Hand over information to oncoming shift on that section. Liaise with packer and autoclave sections operatives on product size changes etc. Fill in all relevant information in section logbook. Complete all weekly work orders for the section. To understand the gate entry system into the moving parts area of the section. Monitor the performance of the machine and update the factory monitoring system (Intouch) with the details of any stoppages. Ensure that safety concerns are escalated without delay and resolved. Previous experience in a similar environment is not a must for this Production Operative role. Full training will be provided prior to crossing on a monthly rota.
