Job Summary
This post is for a NMC Registered Nursing Associate, a new role being introduced into the health and care workforce in England from 2019. It is a generic role within the discipline of nursing. Nursing associates are intended to bridge a gap between health and care assistants and registered nurses. Nursing Associates are a new profession, accountable for their practice.
Nursing Associates are expected to act in the best interests of people, putting them first and providing nursing care that is person-centred, safe, and compassionate at all times, adhering to Trust values and policies. They are integral members of the stroke multidisciplinary team, expected to provide the highest standard of holistic nursing care to stroke patients and support the team in attaining key performance indicators of stroke care quality standards.
Main Duties of the Job
In East Kent Stroke service, we are currently undertaking significant improvement works, supported by a Kent and Medway Stroke Service reconfiguration. We are delighted to offer exciting Nursing Associate roles within our nursing team at Harbledown Ward HASU, a 24-bedded inpatient stroke unit with a strong ethos of rehabilitation. If you are an already qualified NA, this role will provide you with specialist experience in stroke specialty. If you are ready to take on the challenge of training and progressing to qualify as an NA, we are happy to support you.

Qualification and Training
* Nursing Associate Foundation Degree
Essential Skills and Experience
* Ability to work effectively in a pressurised environment
* Understanding of own limitations and seeks management support when appropriate
* Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
* Basic IT skills
* Minimum 2 years of experience in an acute setting
* Demonstrates a patient-focused approach
* Delivery of evidenced-based practice

* Recent experience of working in a healthcare environment
* Experience of acute stroke care and rehabilitation specific training/competencies
