Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have a background of Motor/RTA fee earning and will be competent of running a defendant caseload of litigated matters.
Expected to:
1. Handle a caseload of c70 files at any one time.
2. Deal with all procedural aspects from issue through to trial.
3. Draft all pleadings.
4. Demonstrate the ability to value personal injury using JC Guidelines and case law.
5. Assess claims for special damages.
6. Negotiate settlement where appropriate using persuasive arguments.
7. Have strong telephone negotiation skills.
8. Prepare witness statements for use in court proceedings, taken via telephone call or video call.
9. Attend conferences with counsel when required.
10. Liaise with other professionals such as claimant's solicitors, counsel, courts, brokers, policyholders and the insurer clients.
11. Have strong organisation skills and be able to use a case management system.
12. Ensure all Management Information is completed timely and accurately.
13. Adhere to client SLA requirements in terms of reporting and updates.
14. Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Essential Skills & Experience
15. Previous Motor/RTA litigation experience is essential.
16. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
17. The ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently by managing time in a fast pace environment.
18. A Professional manner with the ability to build relationship internally and externally.
