Job Description
Position Summary: Due to an increasing workload we are seeking a highly skilled Technical Director – Structures to join our Aberdeen office.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the technical lead on diverse projects, both large and small.
* Collaborate with and lead other members of the design team to achieve coordinated design solutions that align with client objectives.
* Supervise and mentor a team of graduate engineers.
* Conduct structural engineering assessments and inspections of both new and existing properties, focusing on materials such as steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
* Perform analysis and design tasks using a variety of software packages, including Tekla Structural Designer and TEDDS.
* Ensure the quality and consistency of technical outputs including drawings and reports, including structural surveys.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering.
* Chartered status (MICE or MIStructE).
* Approved, or working towards SER Certifier Status.
* Comprehensive experience across various construction types and building forms.
* Proven track record in developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
* Strong initiative with the ability to manage personal workload and meet deadlines.
* Excellent report writing, communication, and numerical skills.
* Mandatory experience in structural analysis, design, and relevant software.
* Previous experience as a Technical Director (Structures) within a similar role.
* Full driving licence essential.
