Health and Safety Advisor role for a national leader in the Water industry, based in the Severn Trent region, with day-to-day H&S duties and contributing to the regional safety strategy.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing support to project teams for health and safety compliance and implementation of HSE guidance and best practice.
* Carrying out systematic audits and inspections of construction sites to verify compliance with legislative requirements and health and safety management systems.
* Monitoring the satisfactory resolution of health and safety problems.
* Investigating accidents and incidents to identify root causes and learning points.
* Assisting project teams with risk assessments and identification of suitable control measures.
* Assisting with the development and maintenance of safety-related documentation.
* Liaising with clients, HSE Inspectors, and external assessors.
* Sustaining and building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships with the site team.
* Supporting the development of a positive health and safety culture.

Essential qualifications include:
* Extensive experience in health and safety practice, preferably in the construction industry.
* Knowledge of current and pending HSE directives for health and safety.
* Knowledge of current statutory health and safety law in the UK.
* Knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM).
* Knowledge of good practice in construction, e.g. HSE guidance and approved codes of practice.
* Knowledge and experience of ISO 45001 (or similar management systems).
* Formal qualification in Occupational Safety and Health (e.g. NEBOSH Construction Certificate).
* CSCS card or affiliated scheme (SHEA Water).
