Museum Learning Support Volunteer
The Museum of Power is looking for friendly volunteers to support school groups visiting the Museum. The Museum cares for a collection of industrial heritage and makes it accessible to the public. We are looking for volunteers who enjoy working with children and are enthusiastic about learning to help primary school children have an enjoyable and memorable visit to the Museum. This role does not include teaching or delivering sessions with schools; however, you will have the opportunity to welcome school groups to the Museum and liaise with teachers. You will also have opportunities for training if you wish to progress to the Learning Volunteer role.
In this role you will:
1. Prepare activities and support children to engage with the session.
2. Welcome school groups and support their visit to the Museum.
3. Liaise with teachers and coordinate evaluation.
4. Support activities for families during the school holidays.

Skills
We are looking for someone who is:
1. Friendly, welcoming, and approachable.
2. Enthusiastic about the Museum and its collections.
3. Works well with children and young people and can provide two references.
4. Interested in working with a range of age groups, backgrounds, and demographics.
We are looking for volunteers who are available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays during term time, from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm (half-day shifts are also available). Ideally, you will be available either once a week or once a fortnight to volunteer and once a month on a Tuesday to take part in the team meeting.
