We are looking for two new Parking Technicians to join the team, and to deal with all administration and parking enquiries with regard to Civil Enforcement. This includes Penalty Charge Notices, Abandoned Vehicles, Parking Permits, Parking Suspensions, Road Closures, Mobile Displays and Payments. The ideal candidate will have: Excellent communication skills to deal effectively with the public, contractors, and other stakeholders; Ability to listen, empathise, be assertive and deal with situations tactfully and diplomatically; Provide customers with a wide range of specialist advice over the telephone and email on all parking and highway related issues. Experience in inputting data and be skilled in Google applications. Ability to input income and expenditure for the department Be able to understand parking legislation and issue notices for parking suspensions, road closures and mobile displays. TDC are keen to deliver a strict enforcement policy coupled with a positive and courteous service so the role will require you to have excellent communications skills and maintain a polite but assertive approach in order to communicate positively and effectively with the public in an enforcement environment. Whilst an understanding of parking and highway related legislation is desirable it is not essential as training will be provided, so a good attitude to work and a desire to learn on the job is needed. Candidates must hold a clean driving licence as the role requires regular site visits around the district.
