The Role
An opportunity for an experienced Linux System Administrator to join euNetworks' skilled IT team in Germany.
In this new role, you will be supporting the IT team administrating Linux-based servers as well as firewalls and switches. The role provides the opportunity to be part of an international, cross-functional team that ensures the effective delivery of network security, implementation, and optimisation.
What will you be doing?
System administration of virtualized Linux servers:
* Operating Systems: Oracle Linux, CentOS, Red Hat, Ubuntu, and Debian
* Set up of servers and services, system upgrades/patching, and customer support
* Application support: Nagios, Syslog, Network management systems, AAA protocols, VMWare vSphere
* Development of concepts and solutions based on the requirements of internal customers
* Capacity planning
* Testing latest technologies
Administration of Firewalls, Switches, and Linux-based network components for internal and external customers:
* Switches and Firewalls administration (Fortinet, Juniper)
* Network and firewall maintenance, configuration, security monitoring, user access management
* Troubleshooting IT systems issues and coordination with internal teams and external suppliers as required
* Conducting purchase orders for IT material
* Miscellaneous IT duties in the euNetworks data centres
Team Structure
* You will be providing guidance and support to team members.
* You will receive guidance and support from senior staff.
What do we want from you?
* Relevant experience in IT systems administration
* Diploma or Master in Computer Science or proven year-long experience in this field
* General communication skills and customer service-oriented attitude
* Analytical and creative thinking skills, with the ability to develop pragmatic solutions to internal customer requirements
* Ability to take responsibility for fulfilling and organizing daily tasks
* Fluent English language skills are required, German is an advantage
