Job Description We are recruiting for a Paralegal to join our Group Legal function, based from our Milton Keynes office.Your primary aim will be to support and provide legal and administrative support (including corporate/commercial/employment/litigation/professional indemnity/company secretarial teams).You may be a recent law graduate or hold a graduate diploma in law. We will also consider applicants who have significant previous work experience as a paralegal in a law firm or large commercial organisation. Whilst someone who has studied for their Legal Practice Course is desirable, it is not essential as we are looking for the individual to demonstrate a keen interest in law and business, particularly in corporate, commercial and/or contract law.You responsibilities will include: Carry out legal tasks and services, such as undertaking legal research, preparing and negotiating legal documents (with training and support) across the Group Legal function Managing contract requests and queries in the GLD shared inbox; assisting with work allocation and deadlines Liaising with business stakeholders to obtain more information on their requests/queries where appropriate Maintaining and updating library of standard contracts and T&Cs, including drafting new standard documents where appropriate Drafting and review of simpler contracts (including NDAs, termination letters, witness statements) Assisting with review of more complex contracts Assisting with compilation and maintenance of Contracts Database Researching specific queries and general developments in relevant areas of legislation Liaising with external legal advisers Proof reading and cross referencing Taking notes of meetings and phone calls where requested Other ad-hoc administrative tasks as necessary We want to hear form those individuals who can demonstrate: A keen interest in law and business, particularly in corporate, commercial and/or contract law Self-sufficient and able to take initiative Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt communication styles as appropriate High level of accuracy and attention to details Excellent research skills Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity Connells Group, one of the largest and most successful estate agency and property services providers in the UK.
