Enablement Coordinator
Do you want to make a difference to the lives of people who have a disability? We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, flexible person who would enjoy supporting adults with disabilities to live the lives they want.
The coordinator is part of the County Enablement Service, responsible for managing a team of Enablement Support Workers and creating and monitoring Enablement Plans. The Enablement Service is part of the Adult Disability Service, and the team enables people to develop new skills to allow them to live more independently.
The service accepts referrals for people eligible for social care with a learning disability, physical disability, autism, mental health issues, and other long-term health conditions. We enable people in a range of settings, including building or community-based environments or within the family home where appropriate.
You will require good communication skills and the ability to plan and work to targets and timescales. Please read the attached Job description and Person Specification for further details.
The work base will be County Hall; the role is to cover the County. Business Mileage will be paid where required.
The post holder will mainly work office hours, between 9 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday, but you will be required to work flexibly, so there may be times when you will be expected to work outside of these hours and at weekends.
The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful, you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a "disclosure". Further information can be found on our "Recruitment Process" tab.
You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use. However, we may consider you if you cannot drive because of a disability.
In return, Lancashire County Council offers a range of benefits:
* Local Government Pension Scheme with generous employer contributions, death in service payments, life assurance, and dependents pensions.
* Training and development opportunities.
* Holiday entitlement: 25 days annual leave rising to 31 after five years' continuous service, plus eight bank holidays and two additional statutory days during the Christmas and New Year period.
