PART TIME CARETAKER - Required: As soon as possible
Band 3 Points 6-11 (£23,893 to £25,979)
Actual Salary Based on 15 hours per week/48 weeks is approximately £9,555
Shift Pattern: FLEXIBLE - 15 hours a week to be worked Mornings or Afternoons or a combination
of. (Morning Shifts 7.45am to 10.45am or Afternoon Shifts 3.15pm 6.15pm)
The Trust Board of this fantastic, happy school are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and committed part time Caretaker who are suitably experienced to help create, maintain and manage a safe learning environment for our pupils. The individual needs a keen eye for detail and the role also has an important role to play in the day to day security, maintenance and cleaning of the school.
We are looking for candidates who will take an active interest in the life of the school and enhance the excellent services that we provide, taking pride in their work setting themselves high standards and in the condition of the building and school grounds.
Caretaker - Basic Details
The candidate will have the ability to undertake general daily routines. Also aid in the maintenance of the school site & complete tasks to a high standard in line with site needs & ensure compliance with regulations & laws such as those related to health & safety etc. as directed by the Site Manager. The ability to work on your own initiative and be proactive in your approach to your daily work load, including porterage and cleaning duties. Full training will be provided.
We require a practitioner who:
Preferably has experience and/or understanding of the role of caretaking, but not essential as full training will be given
Is able to complete daily tasks such as replenishment of consumables such as toilet, rolls, soap, towels etc.
Preferably has skills in relation to a trade (plumber/electrician/joiner)/DIY skills & cleaning experience
Has good communication skills and has ideally has basic IT skills (IT skills not essential)
Is an effective team member and works/communicates well with other staff
Is motivated, has a positive attitude and enjoys a challenge
Has the ability to work on one’s own initiative and to have a good-humoured enthusiastic approach to the role
Has lots of energy and can be flexible within their working day
Have a good working knowledge of Health & Safety procedures
Willing to be a part of the school community

The position is permanent but are subject to a 6 month probation period from the earliest possible start date.
