About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join a supportive school in Tameside. This full-time, temporary role starts in December and is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive impact on students' lives by helping them overcome behavioural and emotional challenges to achieve their potential in a nurturing school environment.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and other support staff to provide tailored support to students with behavioural needs. You will contribute to a positive learning environment, using your skills to help manage behaviour effectively, support academic and personal growth, and encourage positive decision-making among students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, and social challenges to engage positively in their learning.
- Assisting classroom teachers with behaviour management strategies and implementing individualised support plans.
- Working with students in both one-on-one and small-group settings to provide targeted interventions.
- Encouraging positive behaviour through mentorship, active listening, and relationship-building.
- Monitoring students' progress and communicating with relevant staff members to ensure consistent support.
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
Ideal Candidate:
We're looking for someone who is passionate about helping students overcome challenges and find success. Ideally, you will have:
- Experience working in a similar role or with students facing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to remain patient, calm, and positive in challenging situations.
- A compassionate approach to student well-being and development.
While formal qualifications in education or support work are beneficial, they are not essential if you bring relevant experience and a positive attitude.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
