Quality Inspector - Reading, Berkshire, RG7 4PR

Location: RG30 3RR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.

Let us introduce the role:
AWE is currently recruiting for a Quality Inspector to support Quality service delivery through appropriate methods of inspection and evaluation, in alignment with specific Quality requirements and through expert guidance and appropriate allocation of inspection resources.
Who are we looking for?
* Contribute subject matter expertise in the fields pertinent to their role.
* Support delivery of technical assessments using appropriate methodologies.
* Contribute to the development and validation of Quality methodologies.
* Participate in experimental trials improvement activities and audits, where appropriate.
* Engage with relevant AWE stakeholders and our international partners.
* Fulfil other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.
We do need you to have the following:
* Good attention to detail is essential.
* Capable of developing solutions to issues in a unique manufacturing environment.
* Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and standards is critical.
* Experience programming Co-ordinate Measurement Machines is critical, with a preference for experience with PC-DMIS.
* Ability to generate and improve upon inspection instructions, inspection reports, and other specific role documentation.
* Understanding of Basic Quality Tools and World Class Manufacturing.
* Good inter-personnel skills.
* Flexible with good oral and written communication skills.
* Computer literate, competent in using the Microsoft Office suite.
* Good hand-eye coordination.
* Able to provide inspection quality control support when undertaking investigations into performance issues.
* Previous experience in a Quality Control role.
* Sound workshop experience in the application of inspection quality tools and techniques, production activities, and processes.
* Experience with inspection practices, interpretation of detailed drawings, use of inspection equipment, and setting up of components/assemblies.
* Reporting of product status including non-conformance management.

* You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.
