Coleg Sir Gar is seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Head of Lifelong Learning. In this pivotal role, you will have the unique responsibility of leading our Lifelong Learning department, driving excellence in teaching and learning, and creating a nurturing and supportive environment where learners can thrive and achieve their full potential.
Location: Ideally you will be based at our Graig Campus in Llanelli. However, we are happy to consider a base at any of our campuses as the role will require travel across all 7 campuses.
Salary: Starting at £51,965, you will have incremental rises to £56,899 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week, (8:45am - 5:00pm Monday to Thursday, 8:45am - 4:30pm on Friday)
What will you be doing?
As the Head of Lifelong Learning, you will spearhead the strategic and operational direction of this vital area within the college. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in developing and implementing innovative programs that meet the diverse needs of our learners, ranging from adult education and vocational training to skills enhancement. You will work collaboratively with a dedicated team of educators and support staff, inspiring and empowering them to deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences.

What will you need?
To be successful, you will need a relevant degree and teaching experience, as you will be delivering 8 hours per week. In addition, you will need experience of curriculum management and curriculum development, including the introduction and implementation of new initiatives. Working with external agencies is also essential, and developing income generating activity in education.
Ideally you will be a strong leader, setting high standards of professionalism with an open and supportive management style. You will value creativity in others and encourage others to share ownership and responsibility for service.
